About Dr. Henry

Dr. Jensen Henry is an Assistant Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York, the No. 1 hospital in the United States for orthopaedic care. She is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. She specializes in foot and ankle surgery with a passion for patient-centered, comprehensive care for all foot and ankle orthopaedic issues.

A Nebraska native, Dr. Henry completed her undergraduate studies in Zoology and Neuroscience at Miami University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was also a member of the Division 1 Varsity women’s swimming team. She attended New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, where she spent an additional year performing orthopaedic research, and she graduated with the Excellence in Musculoskeletal Medicine Award. Dr. Henry completed orthopaedic residency training at HSS, the No. 1 ranked residency in the country, followed by foot & ankle fellowship at HSS.

Dr. Henry co-founded the Total Ankle Replacement Registry at HSS to study and improve patient outcomes after ankle replacement. And as a member of the HSS Total Ankle Replacement Center, she combines research, cutting-edge technology, experience, and collaboration to achieve the best outcome for each patient with ankle arthritis.

Dr. Henry is passionate about patient-centered care, and strives to improve patient outcomes and function through research. Her research expertise is dedicated to ankle arthritis, ankle replacement (arthroplasty), flatfoot, and biomechanics. As a resident and fellow, she was awarded research grants from the Orthopaedic Research & Education Foundation (OREF), Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS)/Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society (RJOS), and HSS Surgeon-in-Chief. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters, and has presented her research at national and international meetings.
